CLEVER Urban Transport Runs on CNG

This sexy three-wheeler concept with room for one is called CLEVER - an earnest yet failed attempt by its designer, the Technical University of Berlin, to abbreviate 'Compact Low Emissions Vehicle for Urban Transport'.

Its name aside, the trike is nearly perfect for city commutes. It runs on compressed natural gas (CNG) and, according to Ecotality, is capable of "62 mph with a range of about 125 miles all the while emitting less than 60 g/km of CO2." Its fuel economy amounts to a pretty amazing 108 mpg equivalent - roughly the same as a plug-in hybrid. The university also says that the vehicle is as agile as a motorcycle, but unlike its two-wheel counterparts, here "the tilting is controlled by the car's computer systems rather than the driver."
